Hyundai i10 vs Hyundai Grand i10

Hyundai i10 Grand blurred the lines between compact cars and hatchback segment for auto fraternity after the launch; but adequately at the same time it too had clear the vision of Korean carmaker for its upcoming near future. Though, it is no doubt that the coming days for the Hyundai are going to be bright, as we are now made informed that car brand had received 10,000 bookings of Grand since the launch.
Cost is a deciding factor for most of the buyers in this segment and as such, Hyundai has kept the price of both these hatchbacks within everyone’s reach. While Hyundai i10 is priced in the bracket of 3.7 to 6.3 lakhs, Hyundai Grand i10 with its superior features is offered in the range of 4.7 to 6.4 lakhs.
Revealed for the first time to a small and select media gathering in Hyderabad, the first impression of the Hyundai Grand i10 is that of a mature hatchback with noticeably restrained styling (by Hyundai standards). Of course, you can’t miss the Hyundai styling cues like the hexagonal grille and the slot-like one above it, as well as the well-formed headlights. However, the Grand i10 is less ‘fluidic’ than the i20 and even the cheaper Eon with fewer cuts and creases. In fact, the Grand i10’s character lines are more subtle and less pronounced to give this new hatchback a slightly understated look to suit the conservative tastes of budget car buyers who find the aggressive styling of the Eon a bit too over the top.
So with a powerful engine and best-in-class interiors, Grand i10 surely leads the charge for Hyundai in coming years and it would not be surprising if the car manages to achieve the top spot in the hatchback segment. With this model, Hyundai has definitely set a precedent for other car companies to follow in the market.
