Samsung Galaxy Nexus India launch

Samsung Galaxy Nexus India launch

Samsung has officially announced that its Galaxy Nexus, the first Android 4.0 based smartphone, will be launched in India in March. A spokesperson of the company confirmed this to The Mobile Indian.

Galaxy Nexus is the official Google phone which is based on Android platform without any OEM (Original equipment Manufacturer) tweaks. The Nexus smartphone offers pure Android experience without any
custom modification that Samsung makes in its other handsets.

We reached out to Samsung India, who told BGR India that the Galaxy Nexus has not been delayed but the launch has been rescheduled because of “too many product introductions” in December. However, India is not the only country where the launch has been pushed forward. Verizon in the US also pushed forward the launch, which will now happen on December 15. Galaxy Nexus users in the UK were also facing a ‘volume
bug’ with the device, for which Google rolled out a fix earlier this month.

Earlier this month we had reported that Galaxy Nexus will be launching in India by end of November, but sadly, according to our trusted sources, the launch has been delayed till end of December or early January. But the good news is that we are expecting the launch price to be Rs.32,900 (approx $660) for the 16GB variant!

Anyway, if you were concerned about the lack of Flash support - worry no more. Adobe released today the Flash Player 11.1 for Android with added support for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
