You have filed your Income Tax Returns for the year and are eagerly awaiting your refund. Very
often this wait could get quite painful. Weeks pass by, and tax payers are seldom aware of the
status of their ITR, and as to when their refund would be sent to them. To solve such concerns,
the Income Tax Department has introduced online availability of information regarding one’s tax
refund. With the click of a mouse, you could now check the status of your income tax refund online.
It is a quick, easy and safe way to know the status. Here is how you go about it.

How to check Income Tax Re-found
Log in to the NSDL website
https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/oltas/refundstatuslogin.html

Enter your Permanent Account Number (PAN) in the available box and enter Your year know
about Tax refund

All you need to do is go to this website and enter your PAN number and choose the Assessment
year and click on submit. This will give you the current status of your income tax refund. You can
also track the status of the income tax refund by contacting the help desk of SBI’s at toll free
number: 18004259760 or email them at itro@sbi.co.inor refunds@incometaxindia.gov.in

In the 'Refund Banker Scheme' the refunds generated on processing of Income tax Returns by the
Assessing officers/ CPC-Bangalore are transmitted to State Bank of India, CMP branch, Mumbai
(Refund Banker) on the next day of processing for further distribution to taxpayers.

Refunds are being sent in following two modes:

RTGS / NECS: To enable credit of refund directly to the bank account, Taxpayer.s Bank A/c
(at least 10 digits), MICR code of bank branch and correct communication address is mandatory.

Paper Cheque: Bank Account No, Correct address is mandatory.
Taxpayers can view status of refund 10 days after their refund has been sent by the Assessing
Officer to the Refund Banker - by entering 'PAN' and 'Assessment Year' below.
