Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman review

Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman review

The Walkman brand has a special place in the heart of every old school music lover, but its fame and glory
have long started to fade away. Still, there is a bunch of music-oriented phones made by Sony Ericsson that
keep the embers alive, and the Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman is exactly one of them. It is a feature phone aimed
at youngsters, who are passionate for music, but cannot afford something flashier. However, going over its
list of features shows that it offers a fair amount of bang for the buck. But how does it perform in real
life? Let’s check it out and see.

The Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman is a fairly basic phone with a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen and a focus on
mobile music. Can it live up to its iconic Walkman branding?

Key features
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support
Touch-friendly four corner UI with Walkman player
Stereo speakers
3.0" capacitive touchscreen of WQVGA resolution
3.15 megapixel fixed-focus camera with QVGA video recording
Wi-Fi b/g
Stereo FM radio with RDS and TrackID
Standard microUSB port for charging and data
Stereo Bluetooth
microSD card slot, support for up to 32GB
3.5mm-compatible audio jack
Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate
Facebook and Twitter apps
Customizable color bands
Scratch-resistant surface

The Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman is having an identity crisis. It's part MP3 player, part smartphone-wannabe
and part budget feature phone, cutting out features to shed pounds. The result is an ill-conceived, often-
overpriced and deceptively underequipped phone that would need to lower its price significantly to be in
with a chance of winning a half-hearted recommendation.

Best Price: Rs. 5,900
