Maruti Suzuki launches Ertiga
The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Thursday launched
its compact multi purpose vehicle Ertiga at introductory price of up to
Rs 8.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) as the company looks to tap the fast
growing utility vehicles segment.
The company said the MUV segment had emerged as the fastest growing sub-
segment among utility vehicles (UV) and Ertiga will help consolidate its
position in the market.
While the petrol variant is powered with a 1.4 litre engine, the diesel
one will have a 1.3 litre powertrain.
Getting down to specifics, the company claims its petrol car can give a
mileage of 16km/litre. Ertiga’s petrol variant has a K-Series 1.4 litre
engine that can produce 95 PS of power. The MPV’s diesel engine is Fiat-
sourced 1.3 litre DDiS unit, which produces 90 PS of power and claims fuel
economy of 20km/litre.
