CNN to buy Mashable ?
CNN, the global news network, is in talks to buy social media news site Mashable
for more than $200m, according to a report.
Sunday night, Reuters' Felix Salmon reported from Austin's South by Southwest
conference that CNN was about to acquire Mashable, one of the biggest online
destinations for news and tips about social media, the web, and technology.
Salmon said the deal could be announced as early as Tuesday.
The Reuters blogger Felix Salmon has learned from an unnamed source that CNN will
buy social media website Mashable for more than $200 million. The source said that
the announcement is expected for Tuesday.
According to Cashmore's official biography on Mashable.com, he started the site
to focus on "up-to-the-minute news on social networks and digital trends".
The trend began with AOL, when it purchased technology blog TechCrunch in September
