Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Mini 2 coming to Three

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Mini 2 coming to Three

The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Mini 2 are coming to Three. The UK
network wasted no time after the two Android phones appeared this morning
to confirm they'd be available on contract or pay as you go.

3G-only network Three is usually the first to announce it's going to sell
a new phone, and it hasn't hung about with the new follow-up phones to the
popular Samsung Galaxy Ace and Samsung Galaxy Mini, a brace of wallet-
friendly Android smart phones.

As one could guess from the names themselves, both handsets are successors
to the Samsung mini and Ace. According to a official blog post by Three,
the Ace 2 will be coming equipped with a dual core processor which should
speed up the device significantly- particularly browsing and scrolling
between screens and menus. Compared to its older sibling Ace's 3.5 inch
screen, the Ace 2 will be sporting a larger 3.8 inch display. In addition,
the internal storage has also been beefed up to 4 GB.

The devices will be added to the carrier’s lineup as the successors of the
popular Samsung Galaxy Ace and mini devices.

However, when compared to the predecessors, the new devices have a lot to
offer in terms of performance, the carrier notes. Both of them run under
Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The 3.8-inch Galaxy Ace 2 offers a little more horsepower, with a dual-core
800MHz chip, 768MB of RAM, a WVGA screen and 5MP camera. Like the Mini 2,
the Ace 2 runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, backed up by TouchWiz 4.0.

We'll be watching with interest to see where both devices land in terms of
pricing, as both could be tempting for first-time smartphone buyers if
priced competitively.
